I do require a non refundable deposit upon claiming a portion of beef. After that, I charge $4.25/pound of the hanging weight for beef. The deposit is taken off the final total. The butcher I use in town (Richland Locker Company) charges $0.80/pound for standard processing plus a proportional harvest fee; $120 (whole), $60 (half), $30 (quarter).

 

Standard processing includes steaks, ground, roasts, or a variaton of the three categories. Additional products can be requested such as premade burger patties, hotdogs, summer sausage, snack sticks, etc. all at additional cost. 

 

My steers average around 350 pounds on the half – this is always used as an estimate because each animal is different! 

 

It can be a lot of information to sort out especially if this is your first time buying beef in bulk! I always offer to answer any questions I can – the only way to learn is to ask questions.
